Background
Following a fatality at the pedestrian crossing facility at the intersection of Wainoni Road and Bickerton Street, ViaStrada was requested to investigate options for improving the roading environment.
The options included kerb buildouts, realigning the flush median, repositioning the crossing facility and the installations of cycle lanes through this section of Wainoni Road to provide better visibility, remove cycle pinch points and improve the roading environment for all road users.
