Traffic signal audit on State Highway 73

ViaStrada was engaged to undertake a detail design stage safety audit of a new signalised intersection where the “Noble Village” subdivision access road connects to the southern side of Yaldhurst Road (State Highway 73). This section of SH73 is a two lane road with a 100 km/h posted speed limit.  The transition from a high speed environment to a lower speed environment using set of traffic signals requires specialist signals design knowledge that ViaStrada was able to apply to this audit.

SH73 is the primary route between Christchurch and the West Coast and as such carries the full range of vehicle classifications and road users.
