ViaStrada looked after the sale of side thrust gauges on behalf of the IPENZ Transportation Group. The TG group had 50 units custom manufactured but, as of 2015, they decided to not commission another run.

All of the 50 specially-manufactured units have been sold. If you have any queries, please direct them to the chair of the Transportation Group.

Land Transport NZ has released the Pedestrian Planning and Design Guide. Well done to the guide's project manager and editor, Tim Hughes for another NZ guideline of the highest quality.

ViaStrada will have seven participants in “Le Race” at the end of March. It’s a 100 km ride from Christchurch to Akaroa and there are some genuine hills on the way!

Some 70 people attended a Cycling Mini Conference on Thursday, 21 February 2008. The 6th NZ Cycling Conference was held during November last year in Napier. Four of the papers were presented at the CCC chambers, with a welcome by mayor Bob Parker.

ViaStrada now has the bases covered when it comes to the preparation, management and processing of land use consents, plan changes and advice under the Resource Management Act.

The recent addition of a specialist environmental health consultant combined with the already well established town planning and transport planning team makes ViaStrada the "one stop shop" for Resource Management. ViaStrada clients will enjoy the benefits of dealing with one company capable of delivering all the required reports and advice from the beginning to the end of their planning consent process.

Russell Malthus will join ViaStrada on 21 January 2008 as a Senior Environmental Health Consultant. Welcome to the team, Russell! Russell mainly works in the RMA field doing noise assessments and will complement the already well established town planning and transport planning team.

Lorraine comes with heaps of experience in traffic engineering, scheme planning, consultation and project management. Many of us have been working with her for years and we are delighted to have you on board. Lorraine is a member of the IPENZ Transportation Group and was the runner up to the 3M Traffic Engineer of the Year Award in 2003.
