2020 Transportation Conference

We've set a new standard; what an outstanding Transportation Conference! Gemma Dioni from ViaStrada was the convenor for the 2020 conference with a theme "equity in transportation", and there were a large number of new elements included to great acclaim. Over 200 delegates came to Christchurch for this 3-day industry gathering. ViaStrada staff gave four presentations:

• Axel Wilke presented on free buses for the Christchurch central city
• John Lieswyn reflected on the 2019 Walk21 conference held in Rotterdam
• Glen Koorey pondered whether speed limits greatly affects travel time
• John Lieswyn gave an overview how the Palmerston North urban cycle network plan was developed

It will be a steep challenge to follow for Auckland in 2021.
