Welcome to our summer interns Amy and Azrie!
Introducing Amy and Azrie our 2023/24 summer interns.
Amy will be joining us over the summer as an Intern Transportation Planner. Amy is a passionate student in her second year at the University of Canterbury where she is studying a Bachelor of Environmental Science majoring in Environmental Change.
New to the world of transportation, Amy is excited to be a part of creating a more sustainable future here in Aotearoa. She is ready to further develop her skills and knowledge in the field of transport and is looking forward to learning from the team at ViaStrada.
When Amy is not studying you can either find her tramping in the mountains or at her favourite beaches around Ōtautahi.
Azrie is joining us as a Transportation engineering intern where he will be focusing on fieldwork, surveys, data analysis alongside helping to update transport policies and tools. Azrie has just recently finished his studies in the University of Auckland where he conducted his final research project on ‘Understanding mode choices of New Zealanders - Can we make more sustainable travel?’ He found that company vehicle ownership played a major role in encouraging kiwis to use private vehicles. Azrie is passionate about making transportation more sustainable through technology, innovation and education.
Born in Malaysia and raised in Auckland, Azrie loves to photograph people to capture their achievements and passions. He has photographed multiple local kiwi artists that are now travelling the world to pursue music including Christchurch's local gem; "There's a Tuesday". He loves capturing beautiful moments such as weddings, graduation ceremonies and sports events where people are in their element to stand through time and help make them shine.
