Road Safety Week (4-10 May 2026)

Road safety heroes aren’t just emergency responders; they’re also the people designing safer journeys before crashes happen. At ViaStrada, we work behind the scenes to help create roads and places where human mistakes don’t result in serious harm, through safety‑focused design, audits and reviews of intersections, corridors, and transport networks.

This Road Safety Week’s theme, Be a road safety hero, celebrates everyone playing a role in safer travel, from transport engineers and road workers to communities advocating for safer streets. By embedding Safe System principles into transport design, and prioritising people walking, cycling and using public transport, we’re proud to be part of that collective effort. 

Because safer journeys don’t happen by chance, they’re designed.
