NPD Station Detailed Design Stage Safe System Audit

ViaStrada was engaged by South Island Property Holdings Limited to undertake a Safe System Audit of the proposed roading improvements associated with a new NPD service station on Prestons Road. The project included assessing infrastructure such as kerb and channel, footpaths, a concrete median refuge island, and associated signs and road markings, including a new right-turn movement into the site.

Our audit considered the proposed design alongside existing road conditions and crash history to identify opportunities to enhance safety for all road users. By applying Safe System principles, we helped support a design that balances access to the new development with the safe and efficient operation of the surrounding road network.
