Kings Road Streetscape Upgrade

Working alongside DCM Urban, the project explored how urban design improvements could enhance liveability, support local businesses and improve accessibility, while retaining valuable on-street parking.

ViaStrada provided data collection, parking analysis and option development to inform the design process. The resulting urban design plan focused on practical, low-cost interventions including raised pedestrian platforms, a mini-roundabout, planters, roadway art, widened pedestrian spaces, parklets and improved cycle parking. These measures were designed to calm traffic, improve safety at the MacMurray Road and Marsden Road intersections, and create a more vibrant and welcoming streetscape that can be delivered through staged implementation.
