Torpedo-7 store traffic assessment review

Christchurch City Council received an application for a new Large Format Retail premises on Clarence Street, a major arterial road. ViaStrada was commissioned to review the applicant’s Transport Assessment.
The review considered the traffic safety effects of a proposed digital billboard, queuing, driveway visibility, potential right turning traffic and parking and car park accessibility by all modes (including pedestrians and cyclists).
We identified application issues and suggested potential mitigations to improve safety and visibility in and out of the carpark.
