Te Tirohanga Housing Project

Whanganui is the site of an exciting new development that breaks the mould in many ways – from shared streets to medium density homes facing a school – with a people-first pathway between. Given that many of the developer’s proposals are not cookie-cutter subdivision streets, council staff called upon ViaStrada to assist with a review of the resource consent application. This work included multiple meetings with an inter-disciplinary team where the tensions between traffic engineering, maintenance, community development, and planning were resolved.
