ViaStrada was commissioned to prepare a concept plan with design options for the Eltham Road / Beaver Road corridor, an important north/south link across Blenheim that serves three major schools and a day care centre. The concepts include intersection improvements to aid pedestrians and people on bikes in crossing busy streets as well as consideration of parking requirements at Whitney Street school.
As additional value-added service, ViaStrada also considered two route options and a fourth design option to the three that were required. John Lieswyn presented the concept options to a council committee, where the decision was made to release the options to the public for consultation. ViaStrada has also been commissioned to support the consultation effort, including the preparation of graphics and presentations.
