RMA Changes in Place

A number of changes to the Resource Management Act came into effect on October 2009.  These changes are intended to improve consent processes, and include:

• changes to when consents are notified
• changes to how affected parties are determined
• direct referral to the Environment Court
• ability to request hearing commissioners
