The Brook cycle access

ViaStrada was engaged by Nelson City Council to provide a concept design including cross sections, rough order costs and scheme alignment plans for a proposed cycle facility between Domett Street and The Brook activity area. The proposed route is required to be suitable for use by cyclists of all ability and confidence levels. There is no suitable off road route and the proposed facility will ideally be separated from moving traffic.

The report identified a proposed route and cross section treatments to suit the various existing road layouts. For the majority of the route, the concept design is a two way shared path separated from traffic by a kerb.
