Regional Speed Management Plan workshops

The 2022 Setting Speed Limits Rule introduced the ability for local and regional councils to prepare 10-year Speed Management Plans that set out an overarching framework for the delivery of safer speeds across the country.

ViaStrada was engaged to help facilitate three industry workshops (in Wellington, Canterbury, and Hawkes Bay) bringing together regional and local authority reps to coordinate Regional Speed Management Plans under the 2022 Rule process. Glen Koorey helped to compile the relevant presentation material setting out the legislative process and background theory, and helped produce commonly agreed objectives and principles to use in the development of each region’s Plan.
