Safe System Audits in Christchurch

Background

Christchurch City Council’s transport team has completed many safety improvement projects throughout Ōtautahi over the last National Land Transport Programme (NLTP) period. Multiple funding streams included Transport Choices, Climate Emergency Response Fund (CERF), Christchurch Regeneration Acceleration Facility (CRAFT), and other transport funds.  

ViaStrada has been involved in the scheme, detailed design and post safe system audits for the following projects:

Traffic Signals

  • Shirley Road signalised intersections primary safe system safety improvements
  • Aldwins Road signalised intersection primary safe system safety improvements
  • Church Corner signalised intersections primary safe system safety improvements

Pedestrian crossings
