Background
Stage 1: Intersection design and internal road layout
For this project we sub-contracted to TM Consultants to develop a concept, scheme, and detailed design for the signalised intersection at the Waimakariri Junction commercial development. We also designed much of the internal road layout of the development. The new intersection design incorporated the following objectives:
safety, efficiency, to provide access for people in vehicles, and people walking and cycling.
Stage 2: ITA update and tracking
Following the successful delivery of transport planning and intersection improvements for Waimakariri Junction, ViaStrada was engaged to support Stage 2 of the development. Our work included updating the Integrated Transport Assessment for the proposed retail and hospitality expansion, together with detailed truck tracking plans to optimise site layout and demonstrate safe access and servicing arrangements for a range of heavy vehicles.
