Safer Roads to Address Fatigue Crashes for NSW

In 2016, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) sought to develop a case for a $100m+ investment in road infrastructure to target fatigue crashes in NSW. ViaStrada were asked to prepare a presentation & fact-sheet for the client, highlighting:

• Crash data showing severity of the problem
• What we're currently doing to address the problems using each of the 4 Safe System pillars
• Proposed infrastructure mass-action treatments
• Estimated costs and benefits at a program level

At the 2025 ACRS Conference workshop on Rural Road Safety, Glen gave a presentation summarising the work ViaStrada did to help TfNSW make the case for targeted investment to tackle fatigue-related crashes. The presentation can be found here.
