Nerd Nite Selwyn #4, Lincoln, 18 Sep 2024

"Nerd Nite" is a regular opportunity for different people to present to the general public on specialist topics they know about and provide some thought-provoking ideas. At this event, held at The Laboratory in Lincoln, Glen Koorey looked into the question of how we can create more cycle-friendly environments here in New Zealand.

Is cycling a comparatively safe form of transport? Has it got any better or worse? How are we continually seeking to make it safer? In a wide-ranging presentation, Glen introduced people to the history of how cycle safety first got attention here in NZ back in 2010, and some of the subsequent actions to improve things. He also presented a range of "All Ages & Abilities" options for people to cycle more safely, using some examples from around the world as well as NZ.
