NZTA Multimodal Intersections webinar

Online NZTA training webinar, 14 Feb 2023

Intersection design is not easy, especially when trying to consider multiple road user types at them. To help address this, NZTA presented an online webinar designed to inform the industry on the latest New Zealand guidance on intersection planning and design, particularly for people walking, cycling and using public transport.

Alongside co-presenters Gerry Dance (NZTA) and Ann-Marie Head (Abley), Glen talked about how to select the most appropriate type of intersection (incl. priority controlled, roundabout, signalised, and grade-separated) and the features required to support more use of public transport, walking, and cycling at these locations. He also covered measures such as slip lanes, accessways/driveways, and ways to restrict some movements.

You can view the Powerpoint presentation slides here. The full webinar (including Q&A) is also available on video.
