  • Jon Ashford turns 65!

We recently celebrated legendary staff member Jon Ashford’s coming of age, otherwise known as turning 65! Jon is a senior transportation engineer and CAD specialist who has been with the ViaStrada team since 2010. Jon has over 40 years of experience in the consulting engineering environment both in New Zealand and overseas.

Jon is a valued team member and a top bloke with a great sense of humour. We are delighted to report he is staying on working with us, just taking an extra day off during the week to enjoy his beloved golf!

  • Mid-winter social

The ViaStrada team recently enjoyed a mid-winter social night out at Riverside Kitchen.  Split into small teams for a mini ‘Master Chef' style challenge, each team was given a recipe and ingredients to make tasty hors d’oeuvres for everyone.
With much hilarity, a little light-hearted competition, and great food, this was a perfect team-building exercise on a rainy evening!

  • Welcome to David McCormick!

We are excited to welcome David McCormick to the ViaStrada team!

  • Road Safety Platform in Taranaki makes crossing highway safer

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency requested a proposal for undertaking the detailed design for a signalised pedestrian crossing on State Highway 3 in Inglewood. This was a joint project for Waka Kotahi and New Plymouth District Council.

This is the first Road Safety Platform (RSP) designed by ViaStrada that has been built on a State Highway. RSPs reduce operating speed and road safety is hence improved.
