Rural design & operations

ViaStrada has experience investigating several aspects of rural road design and safety. Glen Koorey in particular has extensive research and consulting experience investigating NZ rural road safety patterns; relationships between crash rates/severity and road curvature; reviews and designs of rural highway realignments, passing lanes, curve advisory speeds, and other safety measures; and using TRARR simulation modelling. ViaStrada have also undertaken several safety audits and speed management investigations of rural roads. They have also undertaken development planning of rural cycling networks.
