Many thanks to the numerous well-wishers who have contacted us from all over New Zealand and abroad. Thanks too for enquiries about how "out-of-towners" can help - we have some thoughts on that! As noted in previous articles, we have survived with our lives intact, but we do not expect to gain access to our office soon (if ever), to recover project files, work tools, professional manuals and personal effects. We now have a new office and are getting new systems operational.
Our condolences go to the many who have lost close friends and family in this tragedy. There are many who are still enduring inadequate accommodation, with their houses (and lives) in tatters, especially in the eastern suburbs of Christchurch. Please consider donating to the Red Cross, if you are able to do so.
If you have used ViaStrada before professionally (or know us by reputation), please consider whether you have projects (large or small) which we could do for you. We will need a steady flow of work, especially over the next few weeks, to keep our staff gainfully employed, as many of our usual Christchurch work sources are in limbo.
