  • Velo-city 2010 in Copenhagen

    Velo-City Conference - blending urban design and cycling

    The world's largest cycling conference, Velo-City, was held in Copenhagen, Denmark from 22 to 25 June 2010. The conference was attended by ViaStrada director Andrew Macbeth, who had attended previous Velo-City conferences in 1989 (also Copenhagen) and Montreal (1992). Over 1,000 people from 60 countries attended this year. The last time ViaStrada was represented at Velo-City was in Munich, when Axel Wilke attended.

    Happy third birthdayViaStrada began trading in May 2007 and thus we are now three years old! We're proud of our accomplishments in our eight areas of expertise. With 19 staff we have a critical mass of dedicated and highly competent staff. We enjoy working together and with our many progressive clients. And we love the opportunities we are increasingly being given to work on integrating land use and transport planning.

  • NZ Planning Conference

    The 2010 conference of the New Zealand Planning Institute was held in Christchurch during April. ViaStrada sponsored the conference by offering guided cycle tours for conference attendees. The tours focused on land use and transport planning points of interest along a scenic circuit including Hagley Park, Mona Vale and the Cultural Precinct.
