2010 Transportation Conference
13th April 2010
The 2010 Transportation Conference was held in Christchurch from 14 to 17 March. It was a great event, including a tug boat ride on Lyttelton Harbour, a fabulous conference dinner, a good networking opportunity and excellent continuing professional development opportunities.
ViaStrada contributed by presenting the following papers and technical notes:
- What happens when petrol goes up, or buses go down? A case study on transport mode cross-elasticities, presented as a poster, with Andrew Macbeth as the lead author.
- District Plan contribution to integrated land use and transport planning. How the much talked-about integration can be achieved in practice was the topic of a paper with Jeanette Ward as the lead author.
- Shared path widths. This paper presents a methodology for determining the required width of a shared pathway, presented as a poster, with Megan Fowler and Warren Lloyd as authors.
Other ViaStrada conference attendees were Warren Lloyd, John Lieswyn, Lorraine Wilmshurst and Axel Wilke.
