2023 NZ Transportation Conference Glen Koorey was Highly Commended (runner-up) for Best Think Piece Paper - 'How do we measure Harm in Transport?'.
2021 Transportation Conference

Gemma Dioni and Glen Koorey were awarded "People's Choice Award Best Poster Presentation" for 'Pathways for chartered transportation professionals in NZ'.

T-Tech 19 Conference

Glen Koorey was awarded "Highly Commended, Best Paper" for 'Who should control Mobility as a Service?'.

2019 Transportation Conference

ViaStrada won the Best Research Paper award for "directional cycle signals" (by Megan Gregory and Axel Wilke) and was Highly Commended (runner up) in the same category for "The mechanics and politics of changing a speed limit" (Glen Koorey).

In addition, our Dunedin Central City schools cluster project, led by Glen Koorey and Warren Lloyd in conjunction with Dunedin City Council, was a finalist in the 3M Traffic Innovation Award.

2018 Bike to the Future Awards

ViaStrada (led by Glen Koorey and Helen Woodhouse) were awarded the 'Revolutionary Award' (best cycling activity) for Biketober Christchurch 2017.

The Hastings District iWay and MoveIt! School Travel Plans, led by John Lieswyn, were a finalist in the 'Bikes at Work and School' Award category.

2018 2WALKandCYCLE Conference Axel Wilke was awarded best presentation of the day for "Dockless bikeshare - friend or foe?", co-authored by John Lieswyn.
2017 Bike to the Future Awards ViaStrada (led by Axel Wilke and Megan Fowler), together with Abley Consultants and NZ Transport Agency, were Highly Commended in the 'Innovation Hub' Award for the development of the Cycling Network Guidance.
2017 IPENZ Transportation Conference Glen Koorey, with co-author Bill Frith of Opus, was Highly Commended (runner-up) for Best Research Paper - 'Changing Rural Speed Limits - Learning from the Past'.
2016 IPENZ Transportation Study Award Megan Fowler received a study award from the IPENZ Transportation Group, with supplementary funding from the NZ Transport Agency, allowing her to attend the 2016 NACTO conference and conduct a study tour of protected cycling facilities in North America.

Glen Koorey and John Lieswyn were awarded "Highly Commended Practice Paper" for 'Making Space: Innovative Ways to Fit Multiple Modes within Narrow Cross Sections'.

Megan Fowler was awarded "Best Oral Presentation - Peoples' Choice Award" for her presentation of 'Cycling Network Guidance: Planning and Design'.

2014-15 Urban Cycleways Programme Glen Koorey was appointed by the Transport Ministry to the six-member UCF Investment Panel charged with determining the allocation of the $100 million Urban Cycleways Fund.
2014 SNUG Workshop Megan Fowler prepared a presentation on 'Legal Issues for Separated Bike Facilities', delivered by Axel Wilke, that was awarded "Best Technical Presentation".
2014 CAN/NZTA Cycle-Friendly Awards Glen Koorey was awarded "Cycle Champion" for his ongoing contributions to cycling in New Zealand.
2014 IPENZ Transportation Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Highly Commended, Best Paper" for 'Investigating Common Patterns in NZ Cycling Fatalities'.
2014 NZ Cycling Safety Panel Axel Wilke and Glen Koorey were both appointed to the 10-member national Cycling Safety Panel, convened to investigate cycling in New Zealand and make recommendations to the Govt.
2011 IPENZ Transportation Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Highly Commended, Best Paper" for his paper 'Investigating Speed Patterns and Estimating Speed on Traffic-Calmed Streets', co-authored by Basil David Daniel & Alan Nicholson.
2008 IPENZ Transportation Conference Megan Fowler won the "Best Young Author" Award for her paper (co-authored with Axel Wilke) on 'Staged Pedestrian Crossings'.
2007 IPENZ Transportation Technical Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Best Technical Note" for his paper 'A SIDRA for road safety', co-authored by Shane Turner & Fergus Tate.
2005 CAN Cycle-Friendly Awards Axel Wilke won "Best Cycling Promotion" for the development of the 'Planning & Design for Cycling' training course.
2004 IPENZ Transportation Technical Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Runner Up, Best Paper" for 'Developing strategic cycling principles for Regional Land Transport Strategies'.
2003 IPENZ Transportation Technical Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Best Technical Note" for his paper 'Safety Audits of Existing Roads Database', co-authored by Murray Carpenter & Ian Appleton.
2002 IPENZ Transportation Technical Conference Glen Koorey was awarded "Highly Commended, Best Paper" for 'Passing Opportunities at Slow Vehicle Bays'. The paper also won 2003 (Transit NZ / Works Infrastructure) NZ Road Innovation Award.
